What is Energy Medicine?
Energy medicine is a broad brush description encompassing a whole range of healing methods and types of equipment. This site is dedicated to covering the equipment side of energy medicine which act as a complement to energy medicine workers including healers, homoeopaths, herbalists, flower essence practitioners etc. Energy medicine in general terms refers to working with the subtle, invisible, non-physical, non chemical aspect of peoples being, ie their energy. Energy in physics refers to the ability to do work ie a stored quantity waiting to do something. In energy medicine we are more referring to a whole collection of subtle body control mechanisms including chakras, acupuncture meridians, electrical charges, intercellular communication etc. Most of the devices discussed in this site are designed to interact with these subtle energies in ways to assess the general health, nutrition levels, body organ balance, toxic levels, emotional balance etc and or correct energy disturbances in and around the body. A general principle regarding all energy medicine work is that by correcting subtle energy patterns in and around the body this will have the effect of correcting and balancing the bio-chemistry/ physical aspects of a person's health.

What types of energy medicine devices are there?
Today there are a considerable number of devices available however they can be broken down into three main groupings:-

Health assessment - determining the nutritional, organ balance, emotional state etc of the client.
Treatment - influencing the energetic properties of the body.
Protection - devices designed to protect practitioners from harmful energies, vapours and chemicals.

Some devices work solely in one area and others will combined two or more. Within each group there are a number of methods.

Health Assessment Devices

EDS/ EAV (Electro Dermal Screening) Monitoring nutrition and energetic health through an acupuncture point electrode. Good, tried and tested general-purpose assessment method.

CEDS (Computer Electro Dermal Screening) As EDS but using computerised testing techniques. Quicker and more comprehensive than EDS, well established.

Body field analysis Detecting disturbances in the bodies energetic field using an antenna. New field, comprehensive and quick, yet to be fully and accepted.

Body matrix analysis Detecting disturbances in the bodies connective tissue matrix using electrodes. Established method, fairly specialised.

Body fluid analysis Measuring chemical constituents of body fluids (not strictly energy medicine) or directly viewing live blood cells through powerful microscopes. Established method, fairly specialised.

Thermography Measuring/ viewing temperature variations within multiple points on the body. Established method, fairly specialised.

Treatment Devices

BioResonance Detecting and neutralising dis-harmonious electrical frequencies (vibrations) in the body. Good tried and tested, general-purpose treatment method.

Laser Uses safe, low-power laser light to stimulate natural healing processes in the body. Well proven method for a number of health conditions.

Aqua foot bath Water electrolysis method used to detox and energise. Newish method, varying effectiveness.

Radionics Tuning into the bodies resonant frequencies. Established etheric way of working.

Magnets Generating magnetic fields to enhance the body's healing process. Many devices developed over the years, varying effectiveness.

Rief Generating radio frequency waves to stimulate the bodies healing function. Established method, fairly specialised.

Protection Devices

Personal protection devices Many devices available using a number of methods. Mixed results, what works for one person may not work for another.

Water purification Eliminating toxic substances from drinking water. A number of methods with varying degrees of effectiveness.

Air purification Eliminating toxins and energising the air. Established methods with good results.

Is there a long history to energy medicine?
Energy medicine itself is quite ancient for instance acupuncture which works with body energy channels known as meridians is at least 5000 years old. The equipment the ancients used consisted of extremely thin bones (needles), cups and smouldering bundles of herbs (moxa). Today, and in particular this site, we are more involved with electronic devices. The first electrical treatment devices were developed in the 19th century and by 1900 quite sophisticated and effective devices were in regular use, indeed it was standard practice for medical doctors to be trained and Electro medicine at this time. Around 1910 the influence of pharmaceutical investors led to the banning of Electro medicine in America with consequent knock-on effects to the UK. Today the only real Electro treatment that is used in 'orthodox' medicine is electric shock treatment (nothing to do with energy medicine in any way) and TENS machines used in pain control.

From the 1930s to today a whole series of innovations in the field of subtle energy medicine have been developed, many by regarded scientists and doctors (Voll, Reif, Becker, Morel etc) resulting in highly sophisticated, effective and now readily available devices that can be used by holistic practitioners. Alas orthodox medicine in the UK, at least, does not embrace this technology, though elsewhere in Europe particularly Germany and Russia you will find energy medicine devices are commonplace in the medical profession.

Is there a scientific explanation to how these devices work?
Some devices have a well proven scientific background and for others their subtly methods have yet to be fully explained. The more scientists understand how atoms work and the cosmos exists the more they realise how every thing is interconnected, everything is dependant on everything else through energy and information exchange. By exploring the micro world of atoms and particles, physicists have found many subtle and invisible force fields that control the interaction of matter. All solid objects including us are made from atoms which ultimately can be considered to be vibrating energy. The subtle energy laws that apply to atoms also apply to us as a whole, we are basically energy when looked at from physics point of view. At a cellular level, the basic building blocks of life, many studies have shown the existence of subtle/ electric/ magnetic energies in and around cells indeed cells clearly communicate with each other using these subtle energies. The more that is scientifically understood about how the body works the more it is realised that there are subtle (i.e. non-chemical) control mechanisms at play that maintain our healthy state (homeostasis). If these invisible control mechanisms are damaged/ distorted then physical/ emotional problems manifest. Energy medicine devices aim to detect, work with and heal these subtle energy control mechanisms. Scientists can now clearly detect the presence of acupuncture meridians, chakras, electrical polarities and energy fields emanating from and within the body and observe how these change as a person's health state changes.
