About Computerised Electro Dermal Screening

Overview to Computer ElectroDermal screening (CEDS).
According to Oriental medicine there are a number of distinct energy channels known as meridians that flow through the body. These meridians carry information related to body organs such as lung, large intestine, liver etc. They flow from the hands to the head, down the body and to the feet. In EDS screening we use meridian acupuncture points to asses the energetic health of organs & body system.
Acupuncture meridians in the body and on the hand. Red dots indicate acupuncture points
To do this a probe connected to a CEDS test unit and computer is used. The probe has a brass tip which is gently applied to acupuncture points to take an electrical reading.

In this example the probe is being applied to a point on the circulation Meridian and the corresponding reading is displayed as a graft on the computer screen. If the graft levels of in the green band this indicates the circuitry system is balanced, a reading bellow the green band indicates a chronic imbalance and a reading above the band (as in this example) indicates an acute imbalance.
Taking a CEDS reading
When an organ's meridian is found to be out of balance ie not in the green band, then appropriate remedies to rebalance the organ can be found by using digital test information stored on the computer. Any substance or collection of substances to be tested are simply highlighted on the computer screen which activates their stored signature information.

Here a substance has been highlighted on the computer to activate it. The acupuncture point reading is retaken and the graph now registers green which indicates that the remedy will help rebalance the organ. If it had stayed above the green band then the remedy would not have been appropriate. In this way a whole series of remedies can be quickly tested. Extending this method also allows for the determination of causative factors such as viruses, fungus, heavy metals etc. also nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivities, hormone balance, environmental sensitivities etc. can be determined.

Computerised ElectroDermal screening (CEDS) is based on the same biofeedback principle as Electro Dermal Screening where changes in acupuncture point electrical characteristics are monitored to gain information about a client's energetic balance. CEDS differs in that digital test ampoules stored on a computer are used as opposed to physical test ampoules to perform a screening.

The history of EDS is covered in the section about EDS. The first use of digital ampoules was pioneered in the late 1970's and early 80's by Jim Clark in America. Basically Jim Clark found a way of recording the energetic signature information of substances and then was able to play back this information in a way that energetically had the same affect as if the real substances was present. It works a bit like a tape recorder; first recording a sound and then playing it back and the listener being able to recognise sound.

This technology has been developed by a number of companies and today there is of a range of CEDS devices available. The principal advantage of digitally stored signals is the speed and convenience of running tests and been able to incorporate computer techniques to rapidly sort through large lists of remedies and causative factors. As an example the Biomeridian Best has over 40,000 test signatures available to the user and several hundred remedies can be evaluated in a matter of minutes.

It is important to note that these devices leave the practitioner in charge of the screening process. The practitioner decides what to test for, interpret the results and select the groups and remedies he wishes to screen through. The computer simply speeds up this process and allows neat printed reports to be produced.
