Regumed Bicom 2000 - Review

Summary
The BICOM (BIO-ogical COM-puter) is a sophisticated Bio-Resonance (vibration therapy) treatment device incorporating over 400 preset therapeutic programmes. Electromagnetic information is taken from the body through any of a number of electrodes, modified and fed back through a magnetic modulation mat with the effect of counteracting energy imbalances. This process enhances regulation and detoxification as well as stimulates the immune system.

The Bicom has a built-in Electrode Dermal Screening (EDS) device which is used to assess the clients energy balance, nutritional status, toxic load etc and can also be used to modify the preset treatment programmes. An input cup and remedy honeycomb allow the incorporation of clients tissues and remedies (flower, homoeopathic, herbal etc) into the treatment signal. There is also a chip imprinting device allowing the treatment frequencies to be recorded on a chip and worn by the client.

This is a comprehensive bio-resonance/ EAV device that can be used both in a straightforward manner for standard therapeutic treatments or for very advanced applications allowing extensive modifications to treatment programmes and even the development of new treatment programmes.

Features
Bio-resance frequencies	400 built-in preset treatment programs which can be selectively modified to meet individual client requirements. Treatment frequencies between 10 hertz and 150,000 hertz with band-pass filters, wobble and sweep features.
Input Cup	Clients body fluids or other samples can be placed in the input cup and their signature used as part of the treatment programme.
Output Cup	The combined output frequencies can be imprinted into carrier placed in the output cup.
Magnetic modulation mat	Transforms the Bicom treatment frequencies into magnetic frequency patterns which radiate through to cellular level. Placed against the spine.
EDS	Built in electro dermal screening capabilities. Used to assess the energetic state of meridians, nutritional levels, toxins, food sensitivities etc. Also used to select Bicom treatment programmes and modify them if required.

Honeycomb tray	Remedies/ stressors placed in the remedy tray are combined with the output frequencies as part of a treatment or used for EDS testing.
Chip imprinter	Treatment frequencies can be imprinted into a small chip. The chip can be stuck to the client to continue treatment once they leave the clinic.
Teeth measurements	Facility to measure amalgam-teeth voltages and currents.
Quadrant testing	Facility to perform basic body quadrant evaluation.

How it works
The principle behind this treatment process is one of detecting and altering the frequency information with which cells communicate with each other. In health this form of communication is harmonious. With ill-health this cellular communication is impeded by additional dis-harmonious frequency patterns radiating from bacteria, viruses, toxins etc. This interferes with the body's own regulatory powers and in turn impairs the bodies functions. The Bicom detects and transforms these frequency patterns into therapeutic magnetic waves. The therapeutic patterns are combinations of healthy (harmonious) frequencies, pathogenic (dis-harmonious) frequencies and mirror image (inverted) frequencies. The mirror image frequencies are designed to counteract (cancel out) dis-harmonious frequencies, be healthy frequencies are designed to enhance the bodies good energies and the pathogenic frequencies are designed to aggravate and expose dis-harmonies. The magnitude of these waves can be altered and they can be applied in continual form or as a series of pulses.

The Bicom 2000 also incorporates an Electro Dermal Screening (EDS) device. This measures electrical conductance of acupuncture points and is used to indicate the energetic state of meridians and to give biofeedback to help determine appropriate treatment programmes and modifications to these if required.

Hardware
The Bicom 2000 is a well built, large, solid, desk based, self-contained device. The main box is constructed from tough, painted, aluminium and has an appropriate professional look.
All the controls are situated on the front panel and have a good high-quality feel to them. Most operations are controlled by a square block of numeric keys on the front panel. A clear LCD display indicates selected programmes and current status. A red frequency bar along the top indicates the current selected treatment frequency which can vary between 10HZ and 140,000 Hz (cycles per second). Near the centre is a small 'till roll' type printer which produces simple quadrant and Meridian status reports. On the right is a large round meter scaled between 0 and 100 and is used to indicate Electro Dermal Screening readings. Also on the right is the output connector for the modulation mat and selector buttons for Schumann and gemstone frequencies.

At the back of the regumed bicom are various connectors for probes, cups and electrodes. A compartment at the rear houses the internal battery which is automatically charged when the unit is plugged into the mains. The battery should give a good days screening before requiring recharging and its current charge status can be viewed on the front display.

An assortment of good quality electrodes are available. Small and large brass spheres can be placed on specific parts of the body such as joint creases. Several sizes of flat rubber type mats can be placed over larger areas such as an organ e.g. liver. A headband is also provided to allow head readings. The EDS probe is of basic construction compared to dedicated EDS devices but does the job. As with all EDS probes it will take time and practice to become proficient but this is a skill well worth learning.

The magnetic modulation mat delivers the treatment to the client as magnetic waves. It measures about 8 inches across and 20 inches long and is constructed from thin flexible plastic with electrically conducting strips incorporated in it. The client can lie on it on the couch or rest their back against it when sitting in a chair.

A very neat attachment to this device is the chip imprinter. This connects between the Bicom unit and the magnetic modulation mat. A small round chip attached to a sticky pad is placed in the top of the imprinter and as the treatment progresses the chip records the treatment frequency information. The chip can then be stuck to the client to continue treatment when they leave.

Our overall impression is that this device is built to very high standard and should give many years of use. The manufacturer, Regumed, offers modular upgrade options as and when they become available so you can always keep your machine up-to-date without buying a whole new device.

Software
The main operating software is built into the machine and can only be updated in Germany. Additional PC-based software is available, though we have not yet seen it. This software stores between 1600 and 3000 digital signals of various substances and can be combined with the EDS testing and treatment frequencies.

In us
The Bicom 2000 can be used in a number of ways ranging from simple basic therapy to advanced applications.

Simple therapeutic treatment. The client's case history is taken and from a look up chart the required preset treatment programmes that matches their complaints are selected. Appropriate electrodes are placed as indicated on the chart and the 'Go' button is pressed. Simple, quick and straightforward.
Intermediate EDS analysis. Here the energetic state of the clients acupuncture meridians are assessed with the EDS (Electro Dermal Screening) probe by applying it to acupuncture points on the ends of the fingers and toes. Nutrition, toxic and food issues can also be assessed in this way. From this energetic information a more precise treatment programme can be determined in conjunction with the look up book.
Advance Modified Bicom treatments. It is possible to mollify treatment programmes in a number of ways. By using EDS feedback a precise, customise frequency treatment programme can be devised for the client and incorporated into 2 above.

The procedure to perform an EDS evaluation and bio- resonant (BER) treatment programme is as follows.
First the energetic status of each of 20 meridians is determined using Electro Dermal Screening, this allows the practitioner to assess the priority areas. This is done with the client sitting in a chair with their back flat against the modulation mat. They hold a hand mass electrode in one hand and the EDS probe is applied in turn to acupuncture points near the nails of each finger and toe. The probe is fairly comfortable to hold and requires reasonable pressure to get true readings. As the probe is applied the large round meter indicates the reading. An audio sound is also generated which increases in pitch as the reading value increases. As each reading is taken the small button on the probe is pressed and the next point can then be probed. The results can be printed out from the internal printer. The printout looks a bit basic but it gives you the information you require.

To check for nutrient deficiencies a similar process is followed. The metabolism point is selected on the third finger and a reference EDS reading is taken, this may score a value of say 70. An ampoule containing a nutrient is then placed in the honeycomb tray. The Bicom is set to mirror image the frequency information from the test ampoule and output this to the client at a 10 times magnification. A second reading is then taken and if the recorded value is nearer to 50 this indicates a deficiency in the nutrient. This process is repeated for however many nutrients you wish to test for. This sounds a little complicated but is very straightforward in practice once you have mastered the probing technique.

A similar process as above is use to determine causative factors of health imbalances including funguses, bacteria, parasites, viruses etc.

Once the assessment process has been completed (the machine can be used simply as a therapy device without doing the above) the treatment programme can then be selected. Over 400 programs are built into the Bicom 2000. To help the selection process a look up book is provided. If you were dealing with hay-fever for example, the book reveals the required programme number to be 530. If you were wanting to balance the liver Meridian then program 310 is required etc. The program number is typed into the key pad on the front of the machine.

At this point you have the option to modify the preset programme to the clients requirements or use the standard settings. To modify the settings the EDS probe is used to give biofeedback information from the client as to their needs. A large number of parameters can be changed including magnitude of harmonious and dis-harmonious frequencies, which frequencies are mirrored, frequency wabble, carrier frequency value, time span for program, ramped levels of amplification, pulsed times. This all sounds a little technical and is covered in the training, however you do not have to get this involved. You can start using these options as your confidence and experience grows with using the device.

An input cup is provided and swabs from the client e.g. saliva (if they had a cold for instance) can be placed in it. Information taken from the input cup will form part of the treatment. Various input electrodes are provided allowing for example with a liver disharmonies for an input mat (measuring 6 inches square) to be held against the liver. This will take frequency information relating to the liver and be incorporated in the treatment programme. Other options include incorporating Schumann waves and gemstone frequencies in the output signal. This is selected by several buttons on the right the Bicom and can be set to form energising or calming treatments.

Once everything has been set, which only takes a matter of a minutes for simple therapeutic treatments, the treatment process can run. The output signal from the Bicom is fed into the magnetic modulation mat which the client will be lying on or resting their back against in a chair. Treatments can last between 10 and 45 minutes depending on which programs and how many programs you are using. The client is unlikely to feel anything from the device during this time.

If required a treatment chip can be produced. A one and a half inch diameter sticky pad containing a chip is placed in a receptor during the treatment. The output treatment frequencies are stored in the chip and this can then be stuck to the client to continue the treatment when they leave. There is also the option of storing the output frequencies in a carrier oil which can be placed in the output cup. This oil can then be applied to the skin by the client as required.

After the treatment has finished the Meridian point readings can be retaken and compared with the original to show the energetic change in the client.

Results
The only report the Bicom generates is in a simple 'till roll' printout for the quadrant test and EDS Meridian status. The example on the right is for a Meridian balance test. The letters indicate the Meridian and the numbers above and below the letters indicate that recorded values for left and right sides (50 = optimum value). The single numbers indicate drop values.

Effectiveness
The Bicom 2000 appears to offer an effective treatment process and can accelerates healing times noticeably. There is a strong following in Germany and many papers have been produced outlining its effectiveness with a good range of health conditions. Some conditions can be treated with the Regumed Bicom alone that many may require additional use of nutritionals, herbs etc.

How differs from other products
This product stands out from the rest in its construction quality and the ability to make comprehensive modifications to the standard treatment protocols if required. It also has a good range of electrodes available which should cover all eventualities.

Training
Training is in two stages: a basic 2 day workshop and an advanced 2 day workshop at the supplier Vitahealth.

Would suit
This device is suited to both novice and advanced energy medicine practitioner. It can be used with basic anatomy and physiology however a background in nutrition, homoeopathy, herbs etc would allow you to take full advantage of its potential.

History
The first Bicom device was launched in 1987 by Hans Brugemann in Germany. This was an offshoot from the development of the Mora device developed by Dr Morell. In Germany Regumed (the manufacturers) have set up the Institute of Regulative Medicine and is dedicated to researching and developing the Bicom and holds regular seminars on Bicom protocol advances and research material.
