Mora RM10S Review

Summary
The MORA RM10s is a well built, self-contained, portable and effective ElectroDermal Screening device suited to nutritional screening and basic organ/ meridian health evaluation. It has the additional facility to perform basic stimulation therapy. This device should give many years of service.

Treatment Features

How it works
As with all EDS instruments the Mora RM10S uses a probe to measures electrical conductance of acupuncture points on the skin surface. The conductance readings are displayed on the front panel meter. The screening process involves first establishing a stable reference reading against which all other readings will be compared. The client is then energetically stimulated with a test ampoule which may contain nutritional, herbal, homoeopathic, chemical or other substances. A second reading is then taken and any variations from the first reference reading indicates an issue. Alternatively direct readings can be taken from specific acupuncture points to indicate the energetic health of meridian/ organ systems.

Hardware
The Mora RM10S is constructed to a high standard. The robust case is made from aluminium and all the switches and dials are of a good quality. The Unit is small, compact and self-contained in a portable package.

The front panel contains the round EDS measuring metre which is scales between 0 and 100. A series of buttons allow the selection of dental testing, medication testing, stimulating treatment and sedating treatment. Three dials allow the adjustment of speaker tone, treatment/ stimulation voltage and the meter amplification setting. Two connectors allow the attachment of the probe, hand mass and input honeycomb.

The rear panel houses a fuse and battery charger connection. An internal, sealed lead acid battery powers the unit and in normal use should give 30 hours use before re-charging is required. Using the device in treatment mode will reduces this time.

The probe is of a simple tubular construction with a classical Kroma EDS tip design. A small button on the probe is used during dental screening.

In Use
To start using the MORA RM10 the probes the hand mass are connected to the front and the power button is depressed. As with all EDS equipment the client holds the hand mass in one hand and the probe is applied to an acupuncture point on the other hand to gain a reading. First a reference reading is taken and all subsequent readings are compared against this. The probe is comfortable to hold and is applied to an acupuncture point with a gentle but firm pressure; as the reading is taken the meter needle rotates and at the point where it steadies this indicates the reading on the scale. The meter is nicely weighted and gives good stable readings in practice. A speaker at the back of the machine sounds a tone which increases in pitch as the reading value increases.
The screening procedure involves selecting suitable test ampoules and inserting them into the test honeycomb and applying the probe to gain a corresponding reading. This reading is then compared with the reference reading and any difference in values are interpreted as indicating a causative factor, deficiency, imbalance, balancing remedies etc as appropriate to the test being performed. Stan Richardson, the UK Mora supplier, provide a standard screening protocol to follow which is covered in the training. Test ampoules for food intolerance and vitamin and mineral testing are supplied with the machine as standard.

Dental readings on the Mora RM10 simply involve pressing the dental button on the front panel and connecting specialist dental probes (supplied as standard). One probe is placed on the largest amalgam filling in the mouth and the other probe is placed on another filling. The main meter reads of the voltage generated between fillings and can be used to indicate dental amalgam issues.

A basic treatment facilities is provided with the Mora RM10. By pressing the stimulation or sedation buttons on the front panel an oscillating voltage adjustable between 0 and 80 Voll at 10 hertz (cycles per second) is sent to the treatment stylus. The intensity dial beneath these buttons varies the output voltage and is set for the individual client. They should feel the treatment but it should not be uncomfortable. Individual acupuncture points can be stimulated via the probe or a roller can be attached for larger body areas.

There is no facility for printing or storing results.
