The BioMeridian partner is a highly portable, self contained Electro Dermal Screening (EDS)
instrument that can be used to determine a wide range of nutritional and health issues. The
capabilities of this devices can be significantly enhanced with a bolt on option
of the InSite CEDS package.

How it works
As with all EDS instruments the Partner uses a probe to measures electrical
conductance of acupuncture points. The conductance readings are displayed
as a numerical readout and bar graph. The screening
process involves first establishing a stable reference reading against
which all other readings will be compared. The client is then energetically
stimulated with a test ampoule which may contain herbal,
homoeopathic, chemical or any other substance you wish to test for. A second
reading is then taken and any variations from the first reading are interpreted.

Construction
The Partner is constructed from the tough durable plastic. The top of the
device contains a ampoule honeycomb, buttons to control
filters, volume and power. The top of the device also forms a test plate.
A display tower at the back of the Partner rotates to a vertical position
and contains a bar graph of lights and a numeric display at the top. As a
reading is taken the bar graph lights up indicating the recorded value,
this is coupled with a numerical readout on the display.
The hand mass and test probe are of the standard Bio Meridian type being a
well proven in robust design and attach to the left hand side of the
device. A standard camcorder rechargeable battery plunges into to the base
of the Partner. The model we have briefly tested was well constructed as
in common with all BioMeridian products.
In use
To start using the partner the back tower display is pivoted to the
vertical and the power is switched on. As with all EDS equipment the client holds
a hand mass in one hand and
the probe is applied to a point on the other hand. First a reference
reading is taken and all subsequent readings are compared against this. A
convenient feature of the Partner is that this reference value is stored
and indicated on the bar graph so comparison is very simple and
convenient.
The screening procedure involves selecting suitable test ampoules and
inserting them into the test honeycomb on the back panel and applying the
probe to gain the corresponding reading. This reading is then compared
with the reference reading and any difference in values are interpreted as indicating a
causative factor, deficiency, imbalance, balancing remedies etc as appropriate to the test
being performed.
There is no facility for printing results.
How differs from other devices
The partner can be very easily upgraded from a basic EDS device to CEDS
capabilities with the addition of the InSite module. This upgradeability
allows a practitioner to start along the EDS with a basic inexpensive
device and upgrade when required.
